About Us
Rio Verde Engineering (RVE) was started in the early 1970’s by Robert (Bob) Harrower, an engineer with a long family history in Sublette County. Although workloads and crew sizes varied, Bob was the principal owner until 1993.
In 1992, William (Bill) Klapperich learned that RVE was for sale from a publication called “The Connection”. Thinking it may be an opportunity to settle in a small town, Bill contacted co-worker and friend Mark Eatinger.
At the time both Bill and Mark worked for Peter Kiewitt and Son’s Construction Company, Bill in Phoenix and Mark in Salt Lake City. After preliminary research, Bill requested that Mark meet him in the Salt Lake City Airport during a layover to discuss possibilities. A short time after that meeting, negotiations were started with Bob Harrower to purchase RVE. That was the beginning of K&E Engineering (still known as RVE to the public). Included in the business purchase was a $20,000 computer that neither of the new owners knew how to run.
Many employees have contributed to the RVE team and have helped build the company of today. Current stockholders in RVE include Eric Sackett, and Mike Jackson. It is the employees that make a business and our crew is one of the best!
